Description:
The corporate communications manager/senior manager is responsible for effectively developing and executing Yum China corporate communications strategy and programs that drive the business’s strategic vision and raise YUMC profile and reputation through effective storytelling and CEO profiling.
 
This role directly reports to financial media director.
 
 
Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
 
Strategic planning
Support strategic planning for the overall corporate communications projects and plans, aligning with and advancing business goals and strategic priorities
 
Building messages and telling the Yum China story
Assist in the development and dissemination of the main messages based on Yum China and the business’s strategic vision, short term, annual and longer-term goals to the external audience accordingly to quarterly results announcement. 
Support the delivery of strategic international and corporate communications plans for the company’s corporate communications division to enhance and protect the reputation of Yum China globally. 
 
Content development
Create compelling content assets including press releases, newsletters, social posts, and correlated media interview materials.
 
Media engagement and relationship maintenance
Manage the agency relationships in managing key media communication vehicles including background briefings, press events, and one-on-one interviews.
 
 
Required Qualifications:
Educational background in Journalism, Business Administration, Strategic Communications, Public Policy is preferred
Strong consultancy and PR/media/Corporate communications skills with proven (international) track record.
Experience in strategic planning, managing and executing PR activities for US listed companies is a plus
Strong program management skills and experience on complex, highly cross functional programs, working closely with both internal and external partners
Good team player, energizing others by building a connection with other team members
Fluent English language (oral and written). Fluent in Cantonese is a plus
 
 
Writing & Presentation skills
Strong storytelling and editing skills in Chinese and in English. Comfort with different writing styles, including internal news, scripts, presentation support…etc. Highly effective writing style, impact messaging.
 
Clear thinking/problem solving
Successfully lead multiple projects/initiatives within communications/PR function; able to quickly grasp new ideas; and communicating priorities clearly and concisely.
 
Stakeholder management
Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including: executives, Brand leaders, Function Leaders, local market PA managers, reporters, editors, KOLs.
