In conjunction with our member organisation, Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), CBBC is currently looking to recruit a candidate for the following position, which will be based in Wuhan.

Principal Accountabilities
Contributing to and supporting the achievement of student recruitment in the China market. This will include achievement of key performance indicators
Supporting the Regional Development Manager (UK based) to support the development and achievement of their internationalisation strategies for student recruitment
Support the China Recruitment Officer (China based) with account management of established and potential recruitment partners, such as Education Agents and University Partnership, and supporting the development of these partnerships. This will include making recommendations for enhancing the relationship
Representing the university at external recruitment events in a professional manner and providing specialist advice and guidance to prospective international students, parents and their advisors on all aspects of studying at the university through a variety of communication methods
Miscellaneous
The post holder will be required to undertake regular visits across agreed regions in China and must be prepared to travel on a regular basis (often at short notice)
The post holder will be required to undertake out-of-hours and weekend work
Periodic visits to the University campus in the UK for training will be required
Key Tasks
Student Recruitment Activities
Contribute to the achievement of challenging international recruitment targets across China, implementing a portfolio of promotional activities as agreed with the RDM in Manchester
Support a portfolio of partners to maximise return on investment for the university. This will include achievement of key performance indicators
Enhance relationships with established and potential recruitment partners, such as Education Agents. This will include monitoring performance and making recommendations for enhancing the relationship.
Explore opportunities to develop new recruitment links and networks and nurturing these relationships to support recruitment targets and visibility of the university in the region
Represent the university at events including, but not limited to, recruitment fairs, exhibitions, institutional and partner visits and school visits. It may also include supporting delegations of academic staff to visit local partners and providing advice and guidance
Monitor and provide relevant market information and feedback from queries received about local demand, emerging trends for popular courses and FAQs to feed into marketing activity
Report on student and agent needs and provide qualitative feedback on issues such as service, delivery and reputation; and identify and recommend appropriate actions to resolve issues.
Specialist Advice and Guidance
Develop strong and professional relationships with key stakeholders, including agents and international school staff, through maintaining a schedule of regular visits, offering regular training updates and support
Provide specialist advice and guidance to prospective international students, parents and their advisors on all aspects of studying at Manchester Metropolitan. This will be through e-mail, phone, social media and face to face.
Provide specialist advice to Education Agents on all aspects of studying at the university. This will include developing and delivering training for Education Agents and Partners, seeking to innovate and increase efficiency of delivery and responding to customer queries within an agreed timeframe, focusing on strong customer service
General
Maintain an accurate, up-to-date knowledge of immigration and UKVI regulations, government legislation, market trends, trade agreements and other matters pertaining to Chinese student recruitment and internationalisation.
Although staff will have core responsibilities, you may be asked to support with additional tasks or projects as required across the team

Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills, including ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with individuals from a broad range of backgrounds (Essential)
Ability to identify stakeholder requirements, trends and changes in circumstances, respond quickly and adjust plans and activities accordingly (Essential)
Ability to assimilate, distil and summarise large amounts of data and information for a range of audiences to inform policy and strategy (Essential)
General & Specialist Knowledge
Knowledge of international education and international student recruitment (Essential)
An awareness of the issues and context within which UK Higher Education is operating (Essential)
Previous experience of supporting students, parents, partner universities, agents or school counsellors with overseas application and recruitment processes (Essential)
Previous planning and development of recruitment activities across a range of stakeholders (students, counsellors, agents etc.) (Desirable)
Education & Training
Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience (Essential)
International education background (Desirable)
Strong English (minimum IELTs 5.0 or equivalent) and native/fluent level Mandarin (Essential)
Relevant Experience
Experience of developing and delivering market (sales) plans and proven record of exceeding targets over a sustained period of time (Essential)
Experience of working within an international student recruitment environment (Desirable)
Experience in a customer service role, demonstrating a strong understanding of and commitment to customer services (Essential)
Special Requirements
Willing to work flexibly when required (including evenings and weekends) in line with the demands made on the office (Essential)
Experience of living/studying/working abroad (Desirable)
The job holder will report to and be supported by Regional Development Manager (UK Office), MMU.
MMU offers a competitive package which includes basic gross salary, social insurance, housing fund, annual physical exams and generous leave entitlement.
The gross monthly package for this position is RMB 11,000 with annual pro rata leave entitlement of 21-days for Chinese nationals.
