Job Purpose:

The Project Manager works with Engineering, Program Managers, and Business Managers to bring our product roadmaps to life.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities span the product development life cycle from project initiation, throughout development, to product release. In this role, you:

• Partner with global, multi-discipline engineering teams to develop and manage project delivery plans, budgets, and resource plans.

• Look beyond the current project state to identify dependencies, anticipate obstacles and risks, and proactively put mitigation and contingency plans in place.

• Bring stakeholders together to resolve complex project issues and risks in the best interest of the Business.

• Concisely communicate progress, decisions, key issues, risks, and mitigation plans to project stakeholders and senior leadership.

• Ensure project alignment across other initiatives to avoid duplication or misaligned opportunities.

• Provide input to product roadmaps and strategies to optimize new product and feature delivery.

Job related Competencies:

• Manages the project to deliver the defined scope per the schedule, requirements, and cost. Works on the issues within and outside of the project.

• Works with Product Manager to drive scope. Supports the project team to estimate. Manages the project to deliver to scope. Initiates and manages change requests which affect the scope, getting buy-in from the key stakeholders for any changes.

• Leads the project team to develop the milestones which meet the expected deliverable. Documents and regularly reviews the milestones with the team. Recognizes the need for course correction. Assembles the appropriate people to brainstorm ideas for correction. Monitors and controls the project.

• Maintains and applies a broad understanding of financial management principles to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible. Identifies cost effective approaches. Uses the Rockwell financials tools for estimating, forecasting, reporting and tracking investment costs.

• Confirms resource availability. Works with Functional Managers to secure resources needed to perform activities in the project to deliver on time and on budget, based on documented estimates.

• Understands the goals of the project and business and supports the team in an agile methodology. Ensures the team delivers the execution artifacts needed for a well-documented and auditable project. makes use of the lessons learned process, risk management, change management and other tools to deliver a good quality product.

• Understands the product roadmaps. Possesses firsthand knowledge of the Annual Operating Plan and how the project fits into it. Recognizes alignment of strategy with the Business and appropriately incorporates that information into project planning and execution.

• Clearly and succinctly communicates project status, dependencies, risks and mitigation plans, issues and recovery plans, project needs. Negotiates and escalates when needed. Communicates effectively with project stakeholders, third-party suppliers, program management and team. Uses the standard communications artifacts and drafts a communications plan. Develops effective working relationships across functional boundaries.

• Demonstrates success at simultaneously managing multiple projects across global locations.

Educational Qualifications/Work Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management, Engineering Business or Computer science.

• Bachelor degree preferably in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or other related field.

• Demonstrated leadership experience, knowledge of RA and knowledge relevant to technical area of responsibility.

• Has experience in Agile Project Management for multiple projects simultaneously.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Be adaptive to working with global, multi-discipline project teams.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Scum Master is desirable.
