The Boiler Expert will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient design, prefabrication erection and commissioning of industrial boilers systems. By utilizing technical expertise, knowledge codes and regulations and troubleshooting skills, this candidate will contribute and lead the design, oversee prefabrication, erection, and pre-commissioning of the whole boiler system. This role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The primary responsibility will be to manage the design, prefabrication, erection, and pre-commission of boiler systems so they could be handed over to operations, ensuring that the boiler systems meet regulatory standards and function optimally.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for reviewing boiler system engineering documents and P&IDs.
2. Act as lead in overseeing the design of boiler and boiler systems which selected vendors.
3. Ensure VDRLs are provided by vendor.
4. Review provided documents by vendor and provide comments.
5. Recognize, predict, and document potential failures related to boiler systems.
6. Responsible for troubleshooting of boiler systems and equipment during fabrication, erection, and pre-commissioning.
7. Responsible in ensuring an ITP has been collated taking all requirements into consideration.
8. Provide inspection and repair recommendations when needed and a written report on a timely basis.
9. Direct and oversee repair or inspection procedures utilizing the latest electronic communication, references, and documentation technologies.
10. Follow up all quality aspects according contract manual and procedures.
11. Support warranty administration and troubleshoot issues.
12. Execute project management and technical leader duties.

Education and Qualifications:
1. Expatriate position (hired by China office)
2. Mechanical engineering degrees or equivalent.
3. 15+ working years’ experience, demonstrated experience with boilers and auxiliaries.
4. Good English speaking and writing skills, Chinese mandarin is a plus.
5. Any boiler related professional certification can be considered as a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
1. Strong safety focus. In depth knowledge of health and safety standards and procedures.
2. Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities.
3. Good attitude to manage relationships with customers, concerning technical and contractual aspects.
4. Good organizational, project management, oral/written communication, interpersonal/leadership skills.
5. Waste to Energy Experience.
6. Understanding of mechanical/piping design and installation drawings, standards, and specifications, including P&IDs, layout drawings, ISO metric drawings, etc.
7. Knowledge of ASME and EN standards pertaining to boiler manufacturing. Knowledge of GB standards is a plus.
8. Working knowledge of prints/print reading, such as manufacturing drawings, P&IDs and schematic drawings.
9. Proven track record of working within a large construction team. Ability to work within a high performing team that continuously outperforms expectations and objectives.
10. Good attention to detail when checking work and materials.
11 Able to establish appropriate working relationships with the contractors.
