OBJECTIVES
To provide outstanding instruction in the Spanish language to Key Stage 3 and GCSE pupils, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of the language and culture. Through the use of innovative teaching methods and materials, create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment that promotes pupil learning and success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum:
• To teach highly engaging and purposeful Spanish lessons within the MFL department
• To work with other staff on the development of schemes of work, helping to build opportunities for:
o Ensuring progression among all learners
o Active learning and engagement
o Assessment for learning
o Meeting the needs of all learners, specifically through language support
o ICT
o Enrichment and external links
Learning:
• To maintain up-to-date records of pupil progress across all aspects of performance
• To ensure that your pupils make good or outstanding progress in Spanish
• To deal effectively with behaviour, attendance and punctuality issues
Assessment for learning
Assessment:
• To carry out the regular assessment and marking of pupils' work, according to the departmental and whole school assessment and marking policy
• To keep records of pupil attainment and progress
• To monitor pupil achievement against school and national data at individual pupil and teaching group level, and to take action to improve achievement and combat identified under achievement
• To carry out assessment and feedback
Policy:
• To attend relevant meetings
• To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Master or Head of MFL
• To contribute to areas of departmental development as a member of the MFL team

Guidance & Welfare:
Where appropriate, act as a form tutor, fulfilling the following functions:
• To take overall responsibility for monitoring tutees’ academic and wider progress and development, acting in line with school policies in this area;
• To review progress and support pupils in target setting and action planning;
• To ensure that all pupils are valued and treated according to the aims of the school.

Personal Qualification:
• Bachelor's degree in Spanish or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to pupil success
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administration
• Experience using ICT (or a VLE) to enrich pupils’ learning
