As a Global Technology Manager you will create chemistry by……….
The Global Technology Manager Fuel Cells has the overarching task to 1) help broadening BASF’s expertise and market prospects in electrocatalysts, catalyst coated membranes (CCMs) and other CCM components for hydrogen fuel cells, by connecting and coordinating hydrogen stakeholders in the relevant research and technology units at BASF and ECMS and its JVs HCC and NECC, as well as external research institutions 2) convey BASF’s capabilities to existing and potential future customers/collaborators, in order to identify potential new business opportunities and make sure they are being followed through by R&D and commercial units. 3) intellectual property (IP) responsibility for fuel cell segment.
Due to the extreme dynamic and complexity of the underlying, multi-sector market, effective relationship and interface management will be key. For the same reason, the market intelligence and communication aspect will be more pronounced than usual. The field’s strategic importance to ECMS also triggers an above-average level of internal communication requirements, including occasional management briefings.


Your formula for success……
• PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline, with experience in catalysis and automotive
• ~ 8 or more years of experience in catalysis and automotive
• Understanding of the precious metals markets is preferred.
• Demonstrated strength in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and/or external customers and/or suppliers
• Influence decision-makers in a complex environment within ECMS on all levels, and drive actions/decisions even without disciplinary responsibility.
• Problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to develop and implement creative solutions to complex problems while working well on a heterogenous, multi-functional team.
• Outstanding verbal and written skills; highly motivated, self-starter; strong organizational and people influencing skills to drive and act within heterogeneous teams are a must.
• Coordinate IP activities for Hydrogen Fuel Cell segment and ensure that relevant IP is filed and monitored. Point person with ECMS legal team for FTO decisions.
• Willingness to shoulder international travel activity if needed (moderate level).
