This is a hands-on position with a management role. We are looking to hire a skilled Senior IT Support Technician to assist with all IT related technical support issues in the APAC region. As a manager you will also manage one technician in Taiwan. As a Senior IT Support Technician, you will assist end users and determine the nature of the problem, diagnose hardware or software issues, provide effective assistance, and maintain strong customer relationships. You may also be required to install new software applications and train end users on proper application use.
To ensure success as a Senior IT Support Technician, you should have in-depth knowledge of business software and hardware systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and high-level interpersonal skills. Ultimately, a top-class Senior IT Support Technician resolves all IT issues quickly and effectively while maintaining a good relationship with the end user.
A Senior IT Support Technician will manage large projects with minimal guidance that affect multiple locations in a region. Always be expanding your scope of knowledge by learning about technologies utilized by MaxLinear. You will be responsible for supporting major sites remotely using limited local resources at the site.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Installing and configuring end user computer systems.
• Respond to end user IT support requests.
• Assist end users to diagnose and repair hardware malfunctions, software issues, and networking problems.
• Provide technical support on-site or via remote-access systems.
• Offer solutions that meet or exceed the needs of the end user.
• Maintain excellent end user and coworker relations.
• Track and manage support tickets.
• Able to work closely with Design Engineers in multiple departments.
• Support all employee on-boarding activities including configuring equipment, installing software, setting up email, setting up Teams phone number and other services, setting up accounts and access rights based on role, providing employees office access, deploying hardware for new hires.
• Recovery of company assets, account management, organizational manager support for departing employees.
• Maintain and support office file servers, server room, office networks and shared equipment (i.e. printers, wireless access points, office security system, etc.).
• Work with other operations staff (systems administrators, network Technicians, vendors, Department Managers) when necessary to insure MaxLinear staff have the equipment, software, and access to perform their jobs productively.
• Maintain asset and software inventory. Work with IT Management, Operations Management and Finance to acquire new assets based on approved budgets and approved needs.
• Obtain quotes and place orders with vendors/providers to acquire IT equipment, software, and services.
• Follow standard support procedures; accurately log tickets using approved tracking software and methods.
• Communicate and collaborate regularly with other team members.
• Communicates in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner, when working with co-workers.
• Assume ownership of escalated issues and drive them to resolution.
• Learn fundamental operations of supported software, hardware, and other potential support areas as the job requires.
• Work with other team members to propagate knowledge to the entire team.
• Complete other duties, projects and scheduled tasks as assigned.
• Configure and troubleshoot hosted and cloud-based applications.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot endpoint clients including CrowdStrike.
• Provide training to end users in the use of systems and applications.
• Create new accounts using provided software tools.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company's vision, mission, and values in all interactions with customer, co-workers, and vendors.
• This position requires reliable transportation and the ability to travel to and from the MaxLinear office with some late nights and some weekends.
• This position will require lifting of up to 50Lbs.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a technician.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a manager.
• 7+ years of experience with Windows 10/11, MS Outlook, Office 365, and MS Teams.
• 7+ Experience working with Active Directory, include assigning memberships, users, and account management.
• 7+ years of experience with managing and administering O365.
• 7+ years of experience with managing AD/Azure/Entra.
• 10+ years of experience with troubleshooting skills in a multi-user high availability environment.
• 10+ years of experience with networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP.
• 3+ years’ experience with Intune and Autopilot.
• 10+ years of experience in PC repair, troubleshooting and deployment.
• 10+ years IT experience with client, server, and network service delivery.
• 10+ years IT experience supporting an engineering department in a design environment.
• Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service experience and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage high priority projects.
• Professionalism and the ability to work in a remote and independent environment.
• Working knowledge of Network Security technologies (SSL/TLS, Zscaler, Firewall, IDS/IPS).
• Advanced understanding of Windows operating systems and core technology.
• Experience using analytical skills including critical thinking, debugging, judgment, problem solving, troubleshooting, and use-case analysis.
• Ability to follow directions thoroughly while also identifying potential areas of improvement.
• Experience with troubleshooting remotely using tools like Teams and BeyondTrust Remote Support.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Microsoft 365 Certified, A+ or Network+ certifications.
• Experience with Linux.
• Experience with virtualization technology including Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop VDI.
• Working knowledge of Windows Group Policy.
