Mission of Function:
The Project Leader is fully responsible for the results of projects with the objective of:
1. executing the project within the defined requirements (e.g. cost, time, functionality)
2. contributing to the business success and ensuring satisfaction of the customer
3. ensuring professional stakeholder management
4. ensuring timely decisions on open issues, escalating if necessary
Key responsibilities:
Leadership & Communication:
1. Ensures efficient communication with all relevant stakeholders
2. Ensures targeted and full communication within the project team
3. Agrees targets with project staff and delegates defined responsibilities and authority
4. Facilitates and monitors effective team collaboration (e.g. via coaching)
5. Holds feedback sessions with each directly assigned member of staff
6. Seeks active feedback (e.g. from members of staff, managers, partners)
7. Provides supportive input in the context of PMP / SLF (Performance Management Process / Leadership Framework)
8. Takes responsibility for own and team-members' work life integration, e.g. mental and physical health
9. Takes initiative for own and supports team-members' personal development (eg. PMP-process)
Contract-, Change- and Claim Management:
1. Influences creation of the necessary contracts
2. Negotiates with stakeholders on Change Requests and incorporates them into contracts
3. Defines and agrees with stakeholders the strategy for making / mitigating / defending claims
4. Involves the project team in the identification of changes and claims
5. Assesses contracts in terms of claim-relevant significance, ensures examination by legal expert
6. Puts the strategy for making/mitigating claims rigorously into practice
7. Proactively informs supplier, management and project team of deviations
8. Proactively identifies, drives, defends and mitigates claims
Customer Management:
1. Actively gathers information on the Product Portfolio Management (PPM) requirements/targets
2. Involves the Product Portfolio Management (PPM) in decision-making and provides regular information
3. Manages Product Portfolio Management (PPM) expectations and concludes the project to the satisfaction of the Product Portfolio Management (PPM)
4. Identifies / creates additional opportunities out of the ongoing projects
5. Devises and implements strategies for strengthening Product Portfolio Management (PPM) commitment and market position (partially responsible)
Project Planning, Controlling and Closure:
1. Handles all relevant planning elements and milestone work results according to the project category
2. Sets up and maintains the standardized Project Management Plan
3. Monitors continuously the project status, early identification of discrepancies and initiates targeted actions (e.g. escalation)
4. Holds regular PIT meetings (project status)
5. Holds readiness check meetings to ensure compliance with the Q-Gate status and risk management
6. Ensures Q-Gate approval
7. Documents all work results according to the valid standards
Project Initiation / Proposal - Management
1. actively involved in the project initiation phase, analyzing product portfolio managements' requirements and examining their technical feasibility and transferability into a new product proposal (NPP)
2. Ensures that the relevant approval process is followed
3. Ensures that all risks (including compliance) are identified and pursued
4. Examines the NPP costing in terms of financial efficiency
5. Involves the relevant partners (PIT team) during the project initiation phase
6. Ensures that all planning elements (e.g. system structure, work breakdown structure, ........ ) are included in the project initiation phase
7. Ensures that the results of risk assessments and compliance risk assessments are appropriately addressed in contracts and in costing
8. For international projects (cross-border): synchronizes contract structure with tax concept and delegation concept
9. Conducts order negotiations (partially responsible)
Risk, Opportunity, Issue Management:
1. Throughout the Q-Gate process, identifies and assesses all risk factors utilizing available risk measurement tools
2. Devises suitable strategies for risk mitigation (elimination, reduction)
3. Ensures counter measures for solving issues and problems (identification, analysis, actions and controlling) with all necessary internal and external partners
4. Identifies and minimizes non-conformance costs
5. Ensures risk monitoring in all project phases
6. Throughout Q-Gate identifies, assesses, and implements all opportunities for improving results
7. Assesses risks in terms of effects on the Organizational Units, defines measures/action to be taken and ensures early escalation
Partner Management:
1. Ensures qualification, selection and involvement subcontractors/partners according to defined criteria
2. Ensures monitoring of the performance of the subcontractors/partners, conducts timely escalation (in the event of qualitative sin cooperation) and, where there are any discrepancies, initiates timely suitable action
Procurement:
1. Involves procurement at an early stage
2. Ensures that all procurement activities comply with the valid processes and regulations
3. Ensures negotiations based on defined requirements with subcontractors/partners
4. Ensures delivery in time
Financial Management:
1. Manages the project within the defined financial targets (budget, target costing, target profit)
2. Ensures compliance with company reporting standards
3. Optimizes project profitability and ensures business success
4. Lives full responsibility for the financial results of the project as defined in the Project Manager (Target) Agreement
5. Ensures regular financial controlling and reporting
Knowledge Management:
1. Seeks and actively utilizes sources of information, knowledge and experience
2. Analyzes information, knowledge and experience, and makes project learnings available
3. Conducts a project closure meeting and a Lessons Learned Workshop
4. Seizes opportunities to learn from others and to exchange experience
5. Coaches/Mentors new project managers according to requirements
Business Integrity:
1. Adheres to the Business Conduct Guidelines (e.g. Tax regulations, Export Control, EHS (environment, health and safety)
2. Involves - if necessary - the respective corporate governance units (e.g. Compliance, Legal Units)
3. Forwards all relevant information to the project team members and partners
4. Sets up a framework to ensure regular checks of the compliance in the project, e.g. by conducting Compliance Risk(Re-) Assessments at the appropriate milestones / Quality Gates

Requirements:
1. University degree in commercial and/ or technical studies or related.
2. English fluent in both written & oral
3. More than 2 year experience of successfully managing and completing subprojects
professional experience in functions (R&D, Product Management, Marketing, SCM)
4. More than 2 year experience of successfully leading teams
5. Project Management Tools and Methods according to IPMA, PMI or similar
6. Presentation skills, Communication and moderation skills
7. Knowledge of economics in project business and understanding of the mass-production impacts
8. Knowledge of economics in project business and understanding of the mass-production impacts, Risk Management, market, competitor and country.
