Job Description
As a Product Engineer specializing in beauty packaging, you will play a crucial role in the product development and engineering of new products. You should have mechanical engineering knowledge with primary focus on technical and execution with suppliers, ensuring that our products respect customer standards. Your technical education background from technical institute is a must.
Responsibilities:
1. Product Development and Project Management
? Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage OEM-based projects from concept design to mass production.
? Create detailed 3D and 2D product designs for rapid prototyping, presentations, and tooling development.
? Work closely with the quality team and suppliers to define technical solutions and corrective actions during both the New Product Development (NPD) stage and mass production.
2. Material Sourcing and Supplier Collaboration
? Support cross-functional teams in material and supplier sourcing.
? Drive discussions with our suppliers to collect feedback and consolidate input on solutions.
3. Quality Assurance and Specifications
? Follow product specifications and testing requirements in collaboration with the quality team.
? Ensure that products conform to market specifications and safety regulations.
4. Other Duties:
? As assigned by the management team.
Requirements:
? Proven work experience as a product engineer or mechanical engineer in a similar role.
? Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skill internally with cross functional team and externally with suppliers
? Diploma holder or above in Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering or related disciplines
? Working experience in factory, especially in plastic or metal related product is a plus
? Cosmetic / consumer product manufacturing process is a plus
? Strong in product development, preferably with in-depth practical knowledge and knowhow on:
a) Rapid prototyping
b) Plastic injection molding
c) Metal processing e.g. die-casting, stamping, CNC machining, etc.
d) Surface finishing e.g. electroplating, metallization, anodization, PVD, etc.
? Familiar with the use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks on plastic and metal product design is a must
? Able to manage projects individually with minor guidance
? Good command of reading and writing English
? Frequent travel to factory is required
