Core Requirements
• Degree qualified or similar qualification minimum, Masters qualification desirable.

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.

• Good logical reasoning ability and common sense.

• Able to translate business plans into individual objectives for the product and the staff.

• Ability to overcome cultural barriers to achieve departmental and business objectives.

• Manages a group of Engineers and/or an acknowledged industry expert in one or more areas.

• A minimum of 15 years' automotive experience essential, with at least 5 years acting as a system lead and technical expert in the field.

• Proven experience in delivering Body system projects within a development environment from Concept, through Launch into Production.

• Native Chinese speaker with excellent (KS Level 5) English proficiency and excellent communication skills.

• Small team management experience advantageous.

• Ability to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders.

• A team player who understands roles and needs of different client groups; evidence of working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve results and able to prioritise the needs of the team before their own.

• Ensures procedures and quality standards are clearly communicated and actioned.

• Takes responsibility for process improvement and communicates this to staff at all levels.

• Capable of managing complex projects and providing leadership to a multifunctional project team.

• Experience in a start-up, first tier, or engineering service provider would be a distinct advantage.

• Awareness of global industry standard quality tools and processes. Including APQP, PPAP, DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
Main Activities/tasks:

Role – The Body Module Group Leader acts as the single point of contact for the complete Body, Closures and Exterior systems interfacing with China partners and UK Engineering teams and is responsible for ensuring the system is delivered to time, cost, quality, and functionality.
Body System

• Fully conversant in all Body systems (Body Structures, Closures, Closures Mechanisms, Glazing etc) and understands the benefits of, and interactions between, each system.

• Have a high level of understanding of new body systems technology developments influencing the global industry.

• In-depth knowledge of Body systems and components, their requirements and effect on vehicle performance.

• In-depth knowledge of system and vehicle test procedures for validation and sign-off.

• Involvement in Electric Vehicle development and knowledge of Systems Engineering is an advantage.

• Capable of developing Body system and sub-system validation tests (VT’S).

• Understanding of industry standard CAE Simulation techniques for Body Systems design and validation and able to interpret results to develop design solutions, ie DYNA, NASTRAN etc.

• Good understanding of Body Systems manufacturing and assembly methods. Including Dimensional Management and Control.

• In depth knowledge of Body Structures design for crashworthiness and NVH in global markets (including Federal and EU).

• Capable of objective and subjective evaluation of the vehicle to establish the Craftsmanship and Optical Quality performance for the vehicle.

• Fully conversant with all legal and homologation standards applicable to Body systems in global markets.

• Understanding and user Catia V6/V5 & 3DX
