Position Description Summary
The Lead Equipment Engineer is responsible for the planning, execution, documentation and handover of work results of the discipline Equipment Engineering, as well as for the apparatus and machine-technical support of commissioning in an investment project.
He/she has solid expertise in equipment engineering and is responsible for the equipment discipline to achieve project goals by leading a team of internal/external equipment engineers under the guidance of EM or PM.
Major tasks:
- Coordination of equipment engineering in investment projects in all project phases and execution models from concept development and procurement to installation and commissioning
- Evaluates technical needs of BE, provides feedback on potential for improvement and develops an optimal solution while considering technical, economical and ecological constrains and converts the needs into functional and technical requirements and finally into engineering design input;
- Responsibility for the fulfillment of the project objectives in terms of safety, quality, costs and deadlines of his/her area of responsibility and the relevant interfaces
- Independent development and interdisciplinary coordination of technical solutions in a complex project environment through the application of well-founded expertise in accordance with "state of the art"
- Implementation of the tendering and procurement process for the relevant equipment types and engineering services with suppliers and contractors
- Implementation of legal and technical regulations and standards (internal and external), as well as the supervision of design reviews. Implements and monitors design activities and ensures compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Definition and implementation of quality requirements and coordination of acceptance concepts at manufacturers (including final documentation) and on the construction site
- Implements Machinery Safety in project as Local Machinery Safety Expert (project) EQP

The professional execution and conception of the engineering activities, as well as the preparation of all engineering documents in close cooperation with the other participating disciplines and engineering contractors, contribute to a successful project management.
Professional management of the discipline equipment engineering in projects with internal and external employees, as well as coordination of interdisciplinary interfaces.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in engineering specializing in process engineering / mechanical engineering / production technology or equivalent qualification
- Several years (>8Y) professional experience in equipment engineering and / or design and fabrication of chemical equipment
- Sound knowledge in the field of machinery and apparatus technology
- Solid knowledge of national and international standards and regulations
- Very good communication and teamwork skills
- Effective handling of complex time-critical problems and uncertainties
- Good leadership skills to represent the project interests vis-a-vis internal and external stakeholders, even in conflict situations
- Willingness for national and international assignment
- Fluent English in written and spoken
