Qualifications:
• At least university degree in automotive engineering or mechanical engineering.
• 10 year minimum gear set design/development experience in both automotive and mechanical field.
• Strong background on the new product development in automotive powertrain.
• Creative thinking and Innovation mindset together with strong problem solving & analysis capabilities.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills both verbal and written in both Chinese and English and be able to effectively communicate with company’s engineering centers located globally, manufacturing divisions, suppliers, and OEM customers.
• Good knowledge on business development, understand marketing and technology trends, and be able to identify potential new product opportunities at early stage and/or even before customer’s RFI/RFQ.
• Good CAD skill, preferably in Catia. Knowledge of GD&T, Design for Manufacturing, VE/VA, DOE, DFMEA/PFMEA, Global 8D System, Manufacturing process, Control Plans, Quoting Procedures, and Contract Review.
• Good knowledge of powertrain component manufacturing process and tooling
• Thorough knowledge of engineering development process, IATF, APQP procedures, Quality system, Supplier


Job Responsibility:
• Develop/execute the plan to increase local product development engineering competence and capability for further growing new product portfolio in new market segments.
• Responsible for managing the timely new product development, starting from concepts up to full validation of the new product.
• Be able to cascade of specifications from customer system requirements to sub-system, module, and component levels and deliver the final product to the specifications.
• Provides support and input to the quotation process, continuing after project awardment to ensure the product developed being able to meet cost, quality, and timing requirements.
• Responsible for new gear sets product design, development, verification and validation, and mass production realization. Prepares and presents new product development progress and staged update to Customers as part of the process of obtaining new business opportunities.
• Review all customer “Statement of Requirements” (SOR) for completeness and summarizes technical challenges, risks, and ability of MPT to meet Customer’s function, durability, and robustness requirements.
• Supports Program Management / Customer Account Managers in Sales presentations, quoting and technical services in the area of powertrain components, assemblies, and systems.
• Provides Engineering support to other function groups within the company.
