The Role

Tesla’s Cell Abuse Lab is looking for a skilled and motivated abuse test technician to support the Cell abuse test lab construction and validations test.

 

Responsibilities

Set up the electrical connections and the commission of the crush&nail penetration equipment, short equipment, ARC tester, Neware cyclers, Gas collection equipment and environment chamber, etc.
Collaborate with the abuse test engineer setup over-charge&discharge, over-heating,short test,crush test,ARC test and Gas collection test.
Help test engineer to develop some new abuse test method.
Ensure the daily EHS and lab maintenance work.

 

Required Skills

Basic knowledge in cell abuse testing
2 or more years of relevant hands-on experience in the lab equipment debugging experiences, especially cell abuse test equipment 
Proficiency with basic test tools (Oscilloscopes, power supply, E-load, Multimeter, temperature data collection tester etc.) 
Willing to get hands dirty to do some basic test work, such as locking screw, moving equipment, welding wire etc.      
Familiar with GB38031, GB/T31485, UN38.3 test methods and test details
Solid understanding of the cell safety testing and fundamental cell basic theory   
Basic data analysis and report output capability    
Familiar with ARC test, Gas collection test, over-charge test, over-discharge test, thermal runway test, short test, crush test, nail penetration test and over-heating test.       
Basic understanding of CANS testing

 

Preferred Skills  

Rich experience, especially cell abuse test experience inEP, LV and EV product cells
Can read and write with basic English.
Knowledge of basic EHS for the cell abuse test lab.
