RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage relevant packaging projects and lead the packaging team to achieve the targets set by the department.
• Get the design artwork from US marketing team, verify the artwork accuracy and then create the prototype to test product packaging structure reliability, production feasibility, follow up the new packaging development until mass production start.
• Collaborate with and utilize input from Operations, Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, and Senior Management to continue further concept exploration and design refinement for cost reduction.
• Research regulatory requirements and implement packaging designs to maximize efficiency and compliance with all international and domestic shipping requirements.
• Develop, update and manage complex die-lines and packaging structure drawings.
• Manage changes and ensure consistency between all angles, colors and lighting within each suite of images.
• Implement Press Checks to verify color accuracy (color matching) for new product packaging samples and initial mass production.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers to troubleshoot when issues arise and ensure deadlines are hit and product meets Zagg quality standards.
• Work with and travel to printers & manufacturers to develop production packaging parts and assemblies ensuring great fit and highest quality.
• Manage changes to production packaging as needed using the established Engineering change process.
• Manage time efficiently and detail oriented.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Packaging Engineering or equivalent or 5+ years related experience, 3+ years managerial experience.
• Proficient in Adobe CS suites applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign,
Acrobat, etc).
• Experience designing and developing packaging for consumer electronics products.
• Press-Check experience (good color vision skill is required).
• Experience with the printing & prepress process including various press types.
• Experience with a wide range of printing techniques, construction techniques, and materials used for packaging including clamshell blister, foam inserts, etc)
• Strong understanding of packaging manufacturing processes.
• Design experience in primary packaging materials including but not limited to: Folding Carton, Corrugated, Thermoformed plastic, Injection molding, Molded plastic and paper, and Plastic films.
• Understanding of aesthetic aspects of design, and attention to detail.
• Good project, archiving, and file management skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Timely communication of project issues, including but not limited to schedule, status and risks.
• Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
• Ability to adapt to new challenges and finds ways to solve them.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment is
crucial.
• Ability to work well with a team that isn’t always in the same time zone.
• Ability to work hands-on.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Packaging Engineering or equivalent or 5+ years related experience.
• Be able to travel for the purpose of meeting with development
partners, contract manufacturers, customers, or trade shows.
