1. GENERAL SUMMARY
The primary role of this position is to provide electronic design / testing /manufacturing for R&D engineering activities. The position title will be based on experience of the candidate.
2. Essential Functions:
• Work on projects involving new products and also support work on existing products
• Responsible for embedded system hardware design (component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout), firmware experience preferred
• Involve in the specification, testing and verification of the inkjet / laser printer systems
• Create test plans as needed, and executes test plans created by others
• Take technical ownership of the electronic area; work across with various function teams, such as Sourcing, Quality, Service, and Marketing to ensure the success of the project
• Work with suppliers to deliver qualified components and finish products
• Perform Regulatory compliance testing and certification
3. Education, Background and Skill Requirements:
• CET-6 or above
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any electronic engineering or related disciplines
• About 3 - 5 years in a relevant job as an applications electronics engineer designing micro-processor based architecture (i.e. MCU, ARM, DSP, etc) for industrial type products
• Strong knowledge of digital and analogue electronics design techniques and methods
• Good understanding of quality and reliability standards and how they apply to electronic designs, including the importance of designing for manufacture and testability.
• Practical experience in writing a full functional specification for products; familiar with at least one of the EDA design tools (i.e. Cadence, Altium Designer, etc)
• EMI/EMC and regulatory compliance experiences are plus
• Demonstrate an ability to express technical matters adequately in English, both orally and in writing
