Main Responsibilities:
Project phase:
- Work on Project EHS & Permitting stream, communicate with the project team member on the government approval requirement.
- Aggressively drive the permitting process, proactively communication with the consultant, third-party, government officials.　
- Supervise EHS management during the project construction phase, make sure Zero LTI events and incidents
- High risk work permit issue and supervision, e.g. hot work, confined space, LOTO, work at height, lifting etc.
- Make sure the construction follow the EHS permit requirement and take part in any change discussion during the construction phase
Production phase (after go-live):
- Responsibility for permit management including contact with authorities
- Responsibility for occupational safety, health protection, environmental management (waste, exhaust air, waste water) and sustainability
- Contact for all EHS-relevant topics (e.g., work permits especially for hazardous work, EHS assessments, job safety analysis, fire protection) internally and externally (e.g., Corporate EHS, Certification bodies, Site Providers)
- Person in charge for achieving EHS targets and maintaining EHS management systems (e.g., in accordance with ISO 14001, 45001, 50001)
- Incident management including root cause investigations
- Performing regular walks and inspections (e.g., S-O-C walks)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in safety, chemistry, environment, chemical engineering, or other similar.
- At least 5 years (min) working experience within chemical operation in multinational chemical company.
- At least 3 years (min) project and operation EHS & Permit management experience, EHS(QM) management systems experience.
- Demonstrable experience of working in partnership with authorities, stakeholder and industries.
- Good communication and coordinate skill and good team spirit. Fluent in English language, spoken and written.
- Certified Safety Engineer is required
- Understanding of EHS legal frameworks in China and have the ability and resourcefulness to determine the practical application of these requirements.
