Software Technical Program Manager

Tesla China is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Technical Program Manager to join the vehicle software team and manage program execution alongside a team of world-class engineers that are responsible for designing and developing the software for our infotainment system.
The role requires a highly organized and detail orientated mindset along with a passion for launching new technologies with an unparalleled ability to bring people together as a single team with a single goal. You will coordinate collaboration between UI Design, software development, QA, and external partners to ensure our team’s goals are aligned with company priorities. You will work to understand the opportunities, challenges, and dependencies of each project, translate scattered information into a concise and complete message, and communicate to every team member. You will remove roadblocks before they impact the program and aim to make our team efficient and effective.

Responsibilities
• Manage the roadmap, get feedback, and develop ideas for new improvements that solve fundamental challenges facing the teams
• Oversee the product development lifecycle from inception to launch through sustaining feedback, with an ability to prioritize the most important features to maximize impact
• Lead stakeholder discussions for overall vision and translate them into detailed requirements, user stories, and actionable tasks, then feedback engineering discussions to refine them
• Manage the implementation and ongoing success of software products, including (re)defining requirements, sprint planning, and release management
• Conduct user research and contribute to the design of software
• Push for high reliability and responsiveness from a systems and user satisfaction perspective
• Provide technical leadership and project management skills to identify creative & timely solutions to key program challenges.
• Identify team priorities & motivate the project team to complete critical tasks.
• Drive action with internal & cross-functional teams to complete projects within time & resource constraints

Requirements
Must
• Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese
• BS in engineering or computer science
• Experience managing software development (e.g. software product manager) required
• Skilled at maintaining cross-functional work relationships and influencing without authority
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple parallel-path projects
• Experience with user research and user experience
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with ability to work in a highly cross-functional and global environment
• Excellent organization and delegation skills with ability to own the product roadmap and schedule with a track record of delivering projects on-time
•Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills
•Experience managing end-to-end product deployment — from concept through development and successful launch
• Solid product sense with the ability to understand product architecture and as well as drive and criticize design decisions
• Ability to quickly understand complex problems and effectively facilitate a team to decision and action

Preferred
• Proficiency with data manipulation and visualization
• Agile software development workflow familiarity
• Experience with safety critical systems and/or regulated industries
• Experience with software development on Linux platform using C/C+
