Silverstream Technologies has successfully developed and deployed a clean marine technology solution over the last ten years. Our Air Lubrication System (ALS) fundamentally changes the interaction between water and a vessel’s hull, creating a carpet of microbubbles that coats the flat bottom of a vessel. As a result, frictional resistance is reduced – dramatically improving a vessel’s fuel consumption and associated emissions.
Air Lubrication is a strategic efficiency technology enabling significant savings, improved vessel performance and significant reduction of harmful emissions. The technology is suited to large full-bodied vessels and can be installed as a retrofit or during new buildings with an addressable market of 12,000 existing vessels and new tonnage.
After a series of successful deployments, the company is experiencing a significant increase in activity as more ship owners/charterers adopt the system on their vessels. With both retrofit and newbuild projects on order we are expanding our team and recruiting high calibre people to join our dynamic team on our exciting journey of rapid growth. This now includes the development of regional presence in China in addition to our UK based business.
