POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Server Engineer II is responsible for managing and upkeep of computer networking system in an office setting by tracing server action, executing upgrades of software, and maintaining the computer system. The Server Engineer addresses the queries about technical issues and improves the effectiveness by assessing computer network functions.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
· Ensure both on-prem and cloud windows/linux servers (physical and VM) compliance with company standards
· Manage enterprise servers E2E lifecycle including onboarding, patching, vulnerability remediation and offboarding.
· Develop and maintain windows platform for the server as a host, connected with multiple clients (other computers)
· Manage virtualization and storage environment to be under a good performance
· Test and certify new versions of windows operating system providing better solution and integration for the application
· Integrate the server automation process either by custom scripts or via third-party solutions.
· Implement regular checks for the status of servers including hardware and software.
· Maintain and support multi-site windows environment along with hardware and software configuration.
· Management of server migration when required by the client.
· Understanding of LAN/WAN/VLAN, TCP/IP, UDP
· Maintain documentation related to system configuration, design, repairs, requests, actions taken and root cause analysis
· Take care of server environment, which includes installing new servers, taking out servers, and fixing issues with existing servers.
· Review system error logs and user-reported errors
· Actively participate in vendor management
Qualifications
Skills:
Required
· Ability to strategically plan the engineering requirements for server and storage systems.
· Solid knowledge in HPE, DELL and EMC products and technologies
· Strong experience in VMware virtualization platform including ESXi, VDI, etc
· Skills to make recommendations associated with cloud and local system implementations.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Good communication skills
Certificates / Training:
· Preferred: MCSE, RHCE， VCP
Experience:
· 3+ years of hands on experience in diagnostics & troubleshooting of various server environment.
· Preferred: 5+ years of hands on Experience in diagnostics & troubleshooting of various server environment.
Education:
Required
· Bachelor's in Information Technology or 5 Years of experience in the IT industry
