OBJECTIVES
Wellington Early Years is looking for an experienced Early Years Teacher, who has a sound knowledge of child development and understands that young children learn best through play. We are looking for Teachers that build strong relationships with children and understand that high quality resources and environment are the third teacher. We are looking for candidates who welcome children’s ideas and is confident in extending them through a Project Based Learning approach. Wellington College China schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Assessment and testing of applicants’ suitability to work with children is an integral part of the selection process.

BASIC QUALIFICATION
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Relevant teaching qualifications and certificates
Major: Education/Early Childhood Education
Language: English/Chinese

EXPERIENCE


Working Experience
Teacher Certificate of Teaching Chinese

At least two years’ experience in early years, with a proven pedagogy to a reflective and responsive learning environment.

Experience working cross- culturally or international setting.

Familiarity with the Project Based Learning approach is preferred。
PROGRAM AND PRACTICE

Contribute to a setting that is underpinned by an image of a strong and capable child, who has an active role in their learning.

Support Dual Language team in developing and delivering an outstanding Early Years curriculum.

Work in partnership and plan weekly with Dual Language High Level Teaching Assistants, Class Teachers and Teaching Assistants.

Develop rich and engaging lessons through direct teaching and Project Based Learning.

To document the experiences of all children by making learning visible via learning stories, online journals, observations and narratives.

Use assessment and reporting to encourages the highest levels of wellbeing and involvement.

Analyse attainment and progress data to inform Teaching and Learning。

Build on the interests of children through active listening and participating in their play.

Use technology with children as a tool for learning, organising ideas and sharing with the wider community.

Take advantage of serendipitous happenings and be flexible enough to extend learning at these times.

Adhere to child-to-adult ratios throughout the day.

Challenge pupils’ learning at all levels.

Demonstrate leadership skills in lead Dual Language High Level Teaching Assistants and Teaching Assistants.

Any other duties commensurate with the post

Commit to regularly collaborating with peers to understand and extend children’s theories, thoughts, ideas and questions.

Confident in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and database systems.

Adhere to all procedures and policies as outlined in the Staff Handbook.

Has an openness and willingness to learn about pedagogical practices that may be unfamiliar.
