BASF is currently building a new Verbund site in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province. Announced in July 2018 and officially commenced in November 2019, BASF Zhanjiang Verbund Site Project would be BASF’s largest investment with up to US$10 billion upon completion and would be operated under the sole responsibility of BASF. BASF Zhanjiang Verbund site would ultimately be the third-largest BASF site worldwide, and will be built into a role model for smart manufacturing and sustainable production by utilizing the latest digital technologies and applying the highest safety standards.

Main Tasks

- Take safety responsibilities with detailed information in Annex.
- Support telecom cost estimation of project composed of CCTV, PAGA, access control, fire alarm, cabling and so on.
- Assist staffing plan of telecom execution, develop strategy to best implement the project (e.g. MxV). 3. Develop specifications, ITBs, Bonus & Malus, and typical solutions.
- Supervising engineering partner/institute, suppliers, construction team and commissioning of telecom scope assuring success in quality, schedule and cost.
- Keep refreshing up-to-date knowledge particularly the standards/codes, with what basis to analyze deviations of site setup and propose solutions to comply.
- Take part in telecom related activities in global/regional technical communities.
- Assist asset manager develop the maintenance strategy of telecom and conduct accordingly.
- Troubleshoot telecom issues occurred at site. Identify the root causes and make recommendations for improvements and/or implement accordingly.
- Collaborate with procurement and contractor management team on external services (out of BIG stuff) and contract out management, including contractor assessment, qualification, technical clarification, bidding and verification etc.
- Follow BASF continues improving process to optimize sustainable lifecycle management and cost management.

Requirements

- Bachelor’ degree or above in industrial automation or communication engineering;
- At least 8 years total working experience mandatory; At least 3 years working experience in chemical/petrochemical industry mandatory ; At least 5 years in specific professional field (telecom) preferable.
- Familiar with national standards/codes such as to fire alarm, security.
- Familiar with regulations/requirements in terms of telecom engineering, construction and commissioning.
- Strong Technical knowledge in telecom systems such as fire alarm, access control, PAGA and so on.
- Knowledgeable in telecom application empowered by digitization technology, for instance AI CCTV and so on.
- Solid written and verbal communication in Chinese and English skills.
- Familiar with national and international telecom brands and pro-and-cons.
