Responsibilities:
1.Independent planning and realisation of finite element simulation projects for our various business units and their customers.
2.Effective use of simulation to visualise, characterise and optimise sealing products, and build a fundamental understanding of the relationships between structural design, material properties and product functionality.
3.Developing new and unconventional seal designs in co-engineering projects with customers and supporting our engineering, sales and marketing teams with numerical simulations.
4.Evaluation of new simulation methods and tools to further improve our simulation capabilities, initiation and support of cooperation projects with universities and research institutes.
5.Advising internal and external customers on all issues related to finite element simulations, material behaviour, products and processes.
6.Documentation of work results in project reports, invention protection through patent application, publication of selected topics in journals or presentations at conferences.
Requirements:
1.Master’s degree in engineering or science, such as mechanical engineering, materials science, physics or applied mathematics.
2.Strong background in structural mechanics, materials and manufacturing technologies, preferably in the field of polymers and elastomers.
3.Knowledge and practical experience with the finite element simulation software Abaqus or Ansys for the analysis of non-linear problems using hyperelastic or plastic material models.
4.Experience with common CAD software as well as with programming languages such as MATLAB or Python is an advantage.
5.Willingness to take responsibility, customer and service orientation, strong team spirit, quick grasp of complex tasks, high standards of work quality.
6.Enjoy working in an international environment with colleagues and customers in different locations around the world.
7.Fluent in English with very good conversation and presentation skills, knowledge of a further language like German is a clear plus.
