Our Product Designer IM Caps and Packaging Systems works closely with an

interdisciplinary team of Sales, Technical Sales Management and Product Development

Managers in an open-minded environment. Your strong engineering and design skills will

be your foundation for success.

The Position is embedded in the global Alpla Design Network

Main Responsibilities:

Technical Design

? Understand design intent, identify and communicate technical risks and help refine

design concepts

? Partner with others in the technical organization to create high-end IM Parts

? Prepare plastic packaging designs for manufacturing via three-dimensional models,

technical drawings following company standards

? Ensure the Moldability of the Design ( Demolding,…)

? Consider Raw material influences into the Product Design

? Execute 3D-prototyping and testing of packaging Designs

Concept Design

? Ideate and develop systems with a keen understanding of the human factors and

end-user needs

? Communicates design ideas clearly and effectively by using various media

? Create attractive and self-explaining presentation deliverables that may include

research, pack-concepts, renderings, and more

Qualification/Experience:

? Bachelor’s degree in engineering and design or equivalent work experience

? 3 – 5 years of experience in Engineering and Design of IM Components in Packaging

made from Polymer Material

? Extended experience with Injection Molding of Caps and Closures

? Broad knowledge of key manufacturing processes (Injection molding, Compression

molding)

? Strong written and verbal communication skills within both engineering and design

? Working knowledge of CAD systems (e.g. NX)

? Superior time management skills

? Critical problem solver and active listener
