Supplier Quality Engineer could be independently responsible for Supplier quality assurance for specific category as collaborating with internal (Engineering, Sourcing, Testing and PM) and External (Original Design Manufacturer, 3rd party) team on design reliability validation, manufacture quality assurance and continue quality improvement.

Overall responsibility for supplier quality management and product quality assurance for assigned suppliers, as the owner of the assigned products, responsible for implementation of quality plan to ensure quality assurance of critical characteristics, implementation of quality control processes and programs, manufacturing capability, and optimization of the suppliers’ own supply sources, as well as the subsequent process audit and routine reviews of the effectiveness and implementation. Also includes quality accident analysis during or after product lifecycle, and other related jobs assigned by management team.

1) Quality Assurance

• Factory’s manufacturing and quality process review and improvement, as well as process change management.
• Product quality plan review and execution.
• Setup product reliability requirements, and monitor reliability testing in different stages, including design, Pilot run and on-going reliability testing.
• Identify potential quality/production risk and preventive action planning during New product introduction stage.
• Pilot run validation, include manufacture process and consistence.
• Mass production readiness review (operation and manufacturing process part).
• Development and optimization suitable Inspection Plans as per the fixed process to guide inspection for supplier and 3rd party inspectors
• Shipment quality review and approval
• Identifying, reporting and tackling quality issues during mass production.
• Field issue analysis and drive solution for improvement
• Follow Standard Operation Process, and if identify process gap or violence, must report out;
• Continuously enhance customer satisfaction by improvement customer rating
• Responsible for reducing R&E rate and Warrant cost.
• Leading in periodical communication with Suppliers and Internal stakeholders in terms of quality status and improvement plan.

2) Suppliers and 3rd party Management and Development
• Assist on supplier quality and process evaluation, including NPI, manufacturing process, quality system, and material management.
• Initial factory capability improvement plan and follow up improvement action end to end.
• Basing quality audit result and other quality performance, rank suppliers and setup supplier development plan for strategic suppliers
• Regular quality performance review with suppliers and setup improvement target with suppliers.
• Plan and implement service quality evaluation on 3rd party inspector job, and initiate their service quality improvement request, monitoring the improvement result;
• Supplier on-board training

3) System & Process Management
• Follow Standard Operation Process, identify and report process gap or violence
• Assist line manager in system development and update of SOP, procedures and reports as deem necessary.
• Manage all quality related reports and documents by following SOP and ensure have good access for history issue tracking and reporting.
• Regular program framework review for making sure the efficiency and effectiveness.

4) Project Management
• Manage quality activities to meet shipment schedule without scarifying quality requirements
• Setup quality related testing, inspection and audit schedule and management outcome
• Conducts other special projects and tasks as directed by line manager or higher level management.
