Major Accountabilities
1.Make use of Power BI to provide customers with self service capabilities: Maintain the Agile Development environment for the use of Power BI so it can be used by key high-end users in the business in alignment with requirements for security and enterprise support as per the IT Operations and Onyx teams processes and procedures; Create and maintain new reports as required by the business using PowerBI and connected to the various MichaelHill data sources including the data warehouse and cubes; Ensure brand standards are met with layouts and use of report design patterns
2.Azure Environment: Create ETL processes across the Azure landscape including the Data Lake, Data Factory pipelines and Synapse for new projects or requirements as they arise within the business; Maintain existing ETL processes across the Azure landscape including the Data Lake, Data Factory pipelines and Synapse.
3.Support existing pipelines, reports and cubes:Prioritise and action the list of change requests and bug fixes that have been identified by the business
4.User Consumption of Information: Work closely with the Business Process and Systems team to ensure standards are developed for the various types of business users - remote travelers, store managers, iPhone consumers ;Measure adoption and develop approaches to ensure unified adoption of Power BI is achieved;Work closely with the business to identify gaps in the reporting and analytics capability and surface to the team to continually improvement
Key Skills & Required Experience
1.Setup sync processes based on the source system, including one of a combination of Azure Data Factory, SSIS and ETL
2.Working in an agile environment creating and enhancing Power BI Reports
3.Working closely with business stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and clarify requirements to ensure solutions are fit for purpose
4.Ability to document requirements and specifications
5.Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
6.Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business
7.Azure technologies - Azure Data Factory / Azure Storage / Azure Services / Azure Synapse
8.Expert with T-SQL stored procedures as well as general performance of Microsoft SQL server
9.Expert in the BI Stack (SSIS, SSAS (multi-dimensional & tabular), SSRS)
10.Recent hands-on experience with DAX / MDX
11.Previous experience using C# or data modelling is desirable
12.Excellent ability to interpret, manipulate and analyse data in relational databases
13.Fluent English speaking skills
