Objective of the role:
•The Regional Payroll Lead is responsible for the strategic direction of the payroll function for Mars Asia Pacific together with leadership and management of the payroll accounting and operation, including T&E (Travel and expense) accounting and operation within the MGSF (Mars Global Service – Finance) APAC centralized payroll organization.
•The role is responsible for managing a team of 2 payroll and T&E operation teams and oversee the end-to-end Payroll and T&E processes strategy, system, innovation, and measurement for the region.
•This role is responsible for delivering best-in-class payroll and T&E operations by providing functional expertise and operational leadership for the regional payroll and T&E team.
•The Regional Lead is also accountable for advancing standardization, optimization, and governance in collaboration with the Global Payroll process teams.
•The Lead will provide line management and leadership of a team of qualified and diverse payroll professionals across APAC region, who will be responsible for execution of payrolls for assigned markets which includes timely and accurate payroll processing and accounting for payroll transactions, compliance to the Mars Finance Manual, Golden Process, Payroll tax regulations, employment laws and internal control for the team.

What are we looking for?
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or related field required
•More than 10 years experience in payroll, accounting, or human resources, including management of a team
•Demonstrated experience in leading a high-performing team in a matrixed, regional / global environment; ability to work with and engage key internal and external stakeholders, engage team members and senior leadership, and manage third-party providers
•Strong coaching and colleague development experience
•Ability to resolve escalated issues and problems quickly and independently with both internal and external stakeholders, and third-party vendors
•Strong communication and influencing skill, demonstrated high level of stakeholder management and engagement capability.
•Track record of results in a complex global environment with delivery of impactful continuous improvement projects, process optimization and new market/vendor payroll implementations
•In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing, regulations, compliance and audit
•Experience with SAP, Workday, ADP, and other common outsourced payroll / time & attendance products will be a plus

What will be your key responsibilities?
1.Strategic Direction of APAC Payroll and T&E:
•Goals and objectives - Responsible for setting the direction, establishing strategies, goals and objectives and optimal organizational design, processes and procedures for the APAC MGSF payroll organization to achieve the MGSF overall objectives.
•Drive implication, standardization, and continuous improvement in the region which aligns with global direction in the payroll and T&E area, being responsible and drive the changes or improvements to improve operation quality, customer satisfaction and effectiveness, reduce any level of risk to the company and to ensure the overall efficiency of the department.
•Represent region in Global Payroll Process leadership team to ensure alignment of priorities, projects and operations. Working with global payroll process team or function COE team to ensure regional strategic direction inline with global blue print.
•Collaborate with other function tower (including Invoice to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report) and Mars captive center’s payroll and T&E operation team to ensure and improve regional payroll operation excellence.
•Leadership on cross-functional teams - Provide strong payroll and T&E leadership on cross functional teams consisting of associates, external advisors, outside vendors, that interact with Payroll. Provide both a view on opportunities for the future and direction on resolving complex and difficult issues with support team, third-party vendors and internal functions

2.Ensure and Deliver of Payroll and T&E Operations:
•Responsible for execution of global payroll optimization and standardization initiatives, contributing to overall payroll process innovation across all regions.
•Track and manage internal and vendor SLAs / KPIs / metrics in conjunction with Global Payroll Vendor Management team. Responsible for Regional performance and achievement of SLAs, etc.
•Accountable for regional compliance, controls and audits, ensuring strong control environment of payroll process through documentation and compliance with approved processes and procedures. Co-ordination of responses to Internal and External audit related to payroll.
•Ensure overall customer satisfaction is a high priority and customers receive responsive services in accordance with established service level agreements.
•Responsible for relationship management with key stakeholders in P&O (HR team), P&O Operations, Digital, Tax, Audit/Compliance, Finance and Treasury, identifying areas for process and service delivery improvements.
•Lead regional benchmarking and external/regulatory monitoring in support of global initiatives.
•Payroll & T&E system – ownership of the relationship with the payroll software provider and responsible for ensuring the system innovation, change, improvement to meet business requirements. This includes making recommendations to the Global Process Owner for changes to established processes and procedures and ensuring compliance to the Golden Process.
•Projects – Lead project activities of the APAC MGSF Payroll and T&E team that impact the timekeeping and payroll processing areas to ensure proper execution and accurate, on-time payroll.

3.Associate Engagement & Talent Development:
•Oversee Regional Payroll Operations teams, including colleague recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance management and team quality, according to Mars’s Purpose and Values.
•Create a culture focused on continuous improvement, automation, compliance, vendor accountability and quality, focused on measurable outcomes and improvement
•Provide effective leadership and management of the payroll team to foster initiative, promote and build effective teams, achieve outcomes and meet deadlines
•Ensure appropriate training and development plans are established and implemented to build individual and teams functional and behavioral competencies
•Accountable for associates' engagement and development in support of Mars Global Services objectives.
