Job Description
The Reliability and Engineering Support team is in the Personal Systems Quality, System Management, and Cost organization. The RES Shanghai quality engineering team is responsible for engineering support across HP’s portfolio of Personal Systems product through the delivery of competitive analysis, China Region support and driving strategic initiatives including engineering study and programs.
RES Shanghai quality engineering team is seeking an exceptional candidate with strong technical, program management and communication skills to join our team as a Competitive Analysis Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
1. Directs and controls activities related to competitive analysis of systems with respect to driving quality improvements.
2. Directs and controls activities related to failure analysis during the projects to identify root cause and solutions.
3. Experienced in technical reporting to include detailed analysis and recommendations.
4. Drive innovation within the team to continually provide the best value proposition to the business.
5. Interface with Quality PM, R&D, and Product Management to identify and drive quality and customer experience improvements.
6. Manages and leads programs involving development of schedules, critical deliverables, budget, resource allocation plan, and other support requirements for assigned programs.
7. Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to key stakeholders; collaborates with management and internal & external partners to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or business practices based on project roadmaps and schedules.
8. Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into project activities in the quality engineering organization.
9. Leads and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
Education and Experience Required:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
2. Experience in PC architecture is preferred.
3. PMP/PMI certification preferred.
4. Typically 6-10 years experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
2. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
3. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, mastery in English and local language. Strong influencer and ability to outline tradeoffs to the business.
4. Experiences of managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.
5. Self-starter with excellent time management, have multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
6. Ability to operate in a fast-paced work environment.
