Description -
Work for HP Inc., CDPS group as a procurement engineer to manage label, printed material, CD, carton, cushion and other packaging materials for printer products manufactured in Asia. Ensure the cost, quality, reliability, and availability to meet NPI schedule. Responsible for the qualification of supplier processes and part equal to specification. Provides cost management team the benchmark of part prices. Communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur.
Responsibilities
1. Work with worldwide RnD teams to develop material specification, release drawings to supplier for proto sample, and price negotiation with supplier.
2. Reviews the FAI and qualification for packaging, label, printed Manual, and CD. Ensure part meet specification and NPI schedule.
3. Cost benchmark by developed should cost model.
4. Performs lab tests, troubleshooting, and engineering analysis of defective materials; Communicates quality issue to GBU, operation team, and supply base;
5. Works with global teammates and manufacturing partners to improve commodity DPPM performance.
6. Evaluates supplier capabilities to ensure production output can meet HP demand in both normal and abnormal supply conditions (i.e. multiple sourcing, geographic diversity).
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree or above in packaging engineering, mechanical Engineering, or Engineering relevant
2. 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing industry, or procurement area.
3. Good in English, CET-6.
Knowledge and Skills
1. Strong written and verbal communication skills;
2. Ability to read engineering drawing and specification
3. Understanding of packaging material and manufacturing process.
4. Ability to effectively communicate procurement plans, proposals, quality results, and negotiate options.
