公司介绍
RISI is the leading information provider for the global forest products industry. Our mission is to create the highest quality information for and about the global forest products industry and deliver it to customers as part of value-added solutions.
Our success in achieving this is reflected in the results: Over 90% of our clients renew their memberships.
RISI was founded in 1985 as Resource Information Systems Inc., and quickly established itself as the premier source of independent economic analysis for the global forest products industry. Top executives throughout the industry grew to trust RISI's rigorous and unbiased analysis to support their strategic decision-making.
In 2000, RISI was acquired by Paperloop, which was created with the purpose of combining the leading pulp and paper industry publications into a single source for market news and information. Paperloop entered the market leveraging more than a century of industry experience: the RISI brand was joined by eighty industry publications purchased from Miller Freeman, including the Pulp & Paper family of magazines and newsletters, the Lockwood-Post Directories, and several events. The launch of the portal www.paperloop.com brought the brands together online and gave customers easy access to a full range of industry intelligence, from news and prices to forecasts and market data.
The company continued to build on this foundation, acquiring the mill cost benchmarking group from Jacobs Consultancy in 2002 and the assets of C.C. Crow Publications, a provider of prices and news for the North American lumber and panel markets, in 2005.
In January of 2006, the company was renamed "RISI". The new name leverages the heritage of one of Paperloop's strongest brands and better positions the company to aggressively move into new sectors. Concurrent with the renaming, RISI launched a completely revamped web site that blends cutting-edge technology with our deep experience and industry knowledge to deliver content to customers more quickly and in a more customized way than ever before.
In July 2009, RISI was fully acquired by UBM. This acquisition gave RISI the access to additional resources that help the company foster development in key content areas. This ensures that we will continue to evolve at a pace our customers need.
